I would like to compliment Espresso on a very embarrassing situation I found myself in, I did not have cash on me and after a lovely lunch with a friend I realized that debit/credit cards were not accepted.
The waiter kindly provided banking details to me and I settled the account as soon as I got home, I did an internet transfer. I was amazed at the trust that the restaurant showed me....
Thank You for something I have never experienced before in SA!!!
I ate lunch at Espresso last weekend, and my ONLY complaint is that making a decision on all the amazing options was very difficult.
The menu is filled with healthy, yet tasty dishes, the service was friendly and efficient, and the atmosphere- crowded with happy people eating well, shows that the Espresso people know the restaurant business well.
I'm new to South Africa and asked my friend to take me some place great- she took me here.
AND I got to mix my own bloody mary at the table with all the appropriate fixings.
Now I mention it to all my other friends in hopes I can return and try the other items on the menu!
I would like to comment on a posting made by Marguerite on 23 Feb 2009. I am quite dissapointed to hear that you had been coming to us since we opened our doors in 1998 and that 10 years later, you changed your mind. We are very proud of our longevity and our "product" and to hear that someone found Espresso Caffe dissapointing is of concern. We take EVERY comment, compliment and complaint very seriously and encourage an opportunity to solve or fix any problem. For what it's worth...We have napkins ( only handed out on request from the customer ), we have no holes in our table cloths at present and this may change daily as we don't know what state our cloths will be in after any particular Trading day between, "love "letters written in pen, cigarette burns and our Laundry Service ( which we are constantly trying to improve ). As far as our Steaks being "disgusting"...I would have appreciated being called over to firstly see what you were talking about and secondly to correct the problem by doing "whatever it took" to ensure that you were happy. Of course, we probably were'nt given this opportunity, hence your post.
Our "sauces" are still great!
I would like to invite you to give us another "chance" to improve on your dissapointment and if not, thank you for your comments as it has at the very least given me an opportunity to improve my Business.
