Service good, food not good | By Carole | Sunday, 07 November 2010
We had lunch there and my hushand had the prawn and chicken curry. The chicken was full of gristle and obviously hadn't been prepared very well. The prawns were served with shell on but no sign of any finger bowl, which I would have expected at this type of (fairly expensive) restaurant. When we were asked if everything was OK we pointed out the problem with the chicken and were asked if we wanted anything else. That was it, no reduction off the bill or any apology.
We are British but have lived in Cape Town for several years. This was yet another occasion where we were treated like a tourist, as if it didn't matter because we probably wouldn't come back anyway. The waiter who served us did provide good service, the issue is really with the management. We won't be hurrying to go back...
